What is PPE gear?

Personal Protective Equipment is a collective term of any wearable safety equipment, gear or clothing that can prevent injuries on a job. Coveralls, safety helmets, safety goggles, and gloves are all popular examples of PPE.

PPE is necessary and critical on most jobsites. Precautionary steps to ensure the safety of a worker on-site should always be a top priority. PPE should be a worker’s last line of defense.

The importance of protective safety goggles

In addition to head, hand, body and even feet protection, one of the most critical types of PPE is face and eye protection. Without proper eye and face protection, a worker’s vision becomes impaired and they are at risk for eye injuries. This quickly puts themselves and others at higher risk for an accident.

Safety goggles and glasses are an easy way to protect your vision. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) specifically states that employers must ensure employees have and use appropriate eye safety equipment if they are exposed to:

  • Liquid chemicals or acid
  • Harmful gases and vapors
  • Radiation
  • Flying objects or particles
  • Molten (or liquid) metal
  • Infected objects

ANSI Rated Protection

Not only does OSHA state eye protection should be worn in hazardous conditions, but the safety eyewear must meet ANSI Z87+ requirements.

ANSI rated protective eye wear is simply a set of standards and regulations that helps deliver the best possible and safest PPE. ANSI rated safety glasses must pass testing to minimize injuries from eye hazards.

New Trimaco E-Z Clean Goggles

Trimaco offers a range of PPE products including high-vis, chemical resistant and breathable coveralls, non-slip shoe covers and spay socks. Our newest addition to the protective equipment line are our ANSI Z87+ rated, E-Z Clean Goggles.

These protective goggles are the perfect companion to any paint job. The E-Z Clean goggles offer

  • 99.9% UV protection
  • Scratch resistance
  • Impact resistance
  • Anti-fog lens for clear vision

In addition to meeting all ANSI Z87+ the E-Z Clean Goggles are ultra lightweight and provide wide vision. What sets ours apart from the rest? The unique lens coating allows any water based paint to be wiped right off with a damp microfiber! The protective eyewear works with most face protection devices like half-mask respirators, making these goggles great for painting and spraying.

Don’t skimp on PPE. Protect your vision with Trimaco’s new E-Z Clean Goggles.
