As valentine\u2019s day quickly approaches, what better way to show your love with hand-made, personalized valentines for friends and loved ones. These easy Red Rosin Paper valentine\u2019s day cards are the perfect craft to do with young kids, on a cold February afternoon. Follow these simple steps to get started, and then let your creativity kick in:<\/p>\n<h3>Materials needed:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Trimaco <a href=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/products\/flooring-paper\/red-brown-rosin-paper\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Heavy-weight Red Rosin Paper<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Trimaco 6 x 8 <a href=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/products\/dropcloths\/one-tuff\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">One Tuff Dropcloth<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Markers<\/li>\n<li>Colored &#038; natural twine<\/li>\n<li>Bottle of craft glue, glue sticks or hot glue gun<\/li>\n<li>Valentine stickers, and other decorative accessories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/story-9.png\" alt=\"steps 1-5\" width=\"100%\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6841 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/story-9.png 1024w, https:\/\/trimaco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/story-9-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/trimaco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/story-9-768x508.png 768w, https:\/\/trimaco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/story-9-624x412.png 624w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/677;\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Directions:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>First gather your materials and lay down a Trimaco 6 x 8 <a href=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/products\/dropcloths\/one-tuff\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">One Tuff Dropcloth<\/a> to protect your surface and make clean up a breeze. You\u2019ll thank us if you choose to add glitter to your cards.<\/li>\n<li>Next, plan out what you want your card to look like. We went for less traditional card shapes, such as a hearts and circles.<\/li>\n<li>Sketch out your shape on the <a href=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/products\/flooring-paper\/red-brown-rosin-paper\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Heavy-Weight Red Rosin Paper<\/a>, and then cut with scissors. An easy heart shape can be made by folding a piece of Red Rosin paper in half, and then sketching and cutting out a half-shaped heart.<br \/><em>Tip: If your shape rolls up on the edges, feel free to use a piece of <a href=\"https:\/\/trimaco.com\/products\/masking-tapes\/kleenedge-perfect-edge-painting-tape-2\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">tape<\/a> to secure the sides down.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Once you are pleased with the shape of your heart, let your creativity kick in. We used doilies, stickers, glitter, glue and markers to decorate our cards.<\/li>\n<li>Once the cards are dry: sign, seal and deliver your valentine to a friend or loved one.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Tricks we learned along the way<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Since permanent markers will bleed through the Red Rosin Paper, we suggest using colored art markers, colored pencils or crayons.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you plug in your hot glue gun at the beginning of your project, so it is ready to go when needed!<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your valentine&#8217;s day cards dry completely before folding and delivering.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIY with Trimaco (Tri DIY with us!)
